Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

He’s like an octopus 🐙 #comedy #family #joke #funny #oneliner

Cathal has shopping bags in both hands and more looped around his neck. Adam and his mother watch him approach, offering commentary rather than assistance. Then comes the slow-motion treatment, giving an ordinary trip from the shops the grandeur it apparently deserves.

It's the setup for "He's like an octopus 🐙 #comedy #family #joke #funny #oneliner", the most-watched of 2 Big Lugs' three new uploads, with nearly 150,000 views. This is a staged family sketch, and the bags are only the beginning: once Cathal gets indoors, he and Adam move forehead-to-forehead for another round of verbal sparring.

Viewers have picked up on the familiar determination to carry every bag in one trip, as well as the dramatic music accompanying Cathal's entrance. Some household habits need very little explanation.

The newer uploads are doing more of the daily viewing now. "This is why a podcast would never work #comedy #family #joke #funny #oneliner" is currently the channel's busiest video, followed by "He didn't recognise me 😖 #comedy #family #joke #funny #oneliner".

Across the channel, daily views are slightly above their usual level, while the subscriber count grew modestly, adding about 1,000 over the week. Among nearby sketch channels, Biggy Bailey had a particularly substantial week; 2 Big Lugs sat towards the quieter end for weekly views. Its own newest material, though, has already shifted the daily attention from shopping bags to the prospect of a family podcast.
