Healing potions come with a catch in World of Io's animation

Carver's unfortunate character trait gets an animated retelling from a Devil's Due session hosted by BrettUltimus.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Two healing tonics turn up, and Carver would rather pass. "I'm allergic," he explains, leaving the party to contemplate a particularly inconvenient problem for an adventurer.

"Unfortunate Allergy | D&D Animated (The Devil's Due IO5e) #dnd #dungeonsanddragons" was World of Io - Ioverse's most-watched new upload, reaching roughly 650,000 views. Burd_Bones supplies the animation, turning campaign audio from June 2025 into a small argument about why anyone would invent an extra weakness for their own character. Carver's answer is practical: he is only giving Brett more ways to punish him.

The Devil's Due features Masae, Naomi, TheCrownedDM and Tomato, with BrettUltimus hosting. Viewers are discussing the self-imposed difficulty, while one describes starting the full sessions after discovering the Shorts. That is a fitting response for a channel whose animated snippets sit alongside long-running tabletop campaigns.

Nine uploads filled the week, including improvised character ages, bad aim in Altered Interlude and a healer's dark turn in Curse of Strahd HARDCORE. The newest animated question, "What do Town Guards smell like? | D&D Animated: Altered Interlude #dnd #dungeonsanddragons", now has the strongest daily momentum, followed by Carver's allergy and the Devil's Due employment clip.

The channel added about 3,000 subscribers and drew the largest weekly view gain among its nearby anime, comics and tabletop peers. Daily viewing is nevertheless well below its usual pace. For the Ioverse, this week's busiest new doorway into the campaigns was not a dungeon entrance, but a healing potion someone couldn't drink.

  • Big fan of being able to see the difference between Bubs and Masae, very nice little detail.

  • Fun fact in my DND game I bought 100 healing potions 2 potions of harming and 1 potion of poison that all look identical.

While I have it I know the difference. If I die the party inherits my stuff and has not been given a heads up
