WVFRM's tech complaints arrive dressed as dead pixels and Shrek
The week's sole episode pairs OLED MacBook discussion with Arc's shutdown, folding-screen concerns and Apple's upgrade pricing.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

What does a tech podcast wear to a costume party? David Imel comes as a "dead pixel," Andrew Manganelli takes inspiration from Teenage Engineering, and Marques Brownlee dresses as a dying Google product. Producers Mariah and Ellis bring a different kind of reference: Lord Farquaad and the Gingerbread Man from Shrek.
That opening gives WVFRM Podcast's only new upload, "Is the "PROLED" Macbook Any Good?", a pleasantly ridiculous frame for some fairly pointed tech discussion. It has reached roughly 578,000 views, and remains comfortably the channel's busiest individual video right now.
Before reaching the OLED MacBook Pro named in the title, the team works through Arc browser's planned shutdown and reports of cracked iPhone Duo displays. Marques says he has switched back to the 18 Pro. Later, the new iPad mini's OLED screen comes with a familiar frustration: a 60Hz refresh rate and an upgrade ladder that prompts him to say, "Because this price laddering is unbelievable with this product."
The comments have their own agenda. Ellis's Gingerbread Man voice gets attention, Andrew's outfit and glasses earn mentions, and one viewer proposes adding Mariah's sarcastic "So cool" from the previous episode to the soundboard. Another imagines a PROLED dishwasher to accompany their podcast listening.
The audience grew modestly over the week, adding about a thousand subscribers, although daily viewing is currently below its usual level. Among nearby gadget channels, Data Slayer also had a productive week and Zack Shutt drew a particularly large audience. WVFRM's older Tesla Roadster discussion and smartphone-camera awards conversation continue contributing views, with the Roadster episode also offering the team's earlier verdict after living with the Duo.
