SYLVESTER STALLONE: Best Interview EVER! From Rocky to His New Memoir 'The Steps' 🥊
A regular video on Virgin Radio UK usually finishes its first day with around 1,600 views and almost no comments. Chris Evans' sit-down with Sylvester Stallone passed 23,000 views in nine hours, and dozens of people had already written underneath it.
Stallone came in to talk about The Steps: A Memoir. The description says the book runs from his years drifting between jobs to global stardom, with room for his long rivalry with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the other great muscle of 1980s action cinema. A short from the same visit has the two men reenacting the negotiations behind Rocky. Stallone wrote that script himself and insisted on playing the lead, and the 1976 film went on to win Best Picture.
That side of him is what the comments keep circling. Several viewers argue he is one of Hollywood's most underrated screenwriters. Others who grew up with his films in the 1970s and 80s write about what the original Rocky meant to them in hard times. Some simply wish the conversation had run longer.
It was not the station's only Stallone hit of the day. Evans also posted a full episode of TFI Friday Unplugged, his revival of the Channel 4 show he fronted in the 1990s, with Stallone joining him at the desk. Mikey Madison, Jeremy Allen White, Aaron Sorkin, Stephen Graham, Hannah Walters and Ruth Bradley were on the same bill, and Passenger played "Let Her Go". That episode also raced far beyond the channel's usual start, though the one-on-one interview is the video drawing the conversation.
