Sheffield, Birmingham, Liverpool, West London: Fire in the Streets goes on tour

Ten uploads went up on the home of Fire in the Booth, and a Bugzy Malone short sets two clips fifteen years apart side by side.

Charlie Sloth's channel calls itself the home of the world famous Fire in the Booth, but most of the past seven days belonged to its street-level sibling. Fire in the Streets, the format the descriptions bill as a Charlie Sloth original for unsigned rappers, worked its way around the country: Billzvi from Sheffield, Tai and Remzz from Birmingham, JRCH44 from Liverpool and, most recently, 11Tugg from West London.

The newest names are the ones moving fastest. Remzz's freestyle and a short clip of him, titled simply "Remzz going IN !!!", are both pulling in more each day than anything older, with 11Tugg's turn right alongside them.

The most watched upload of the ten is a short with a longer memory. It puts two Bugzy Malone moments fifteen years apart next to each other, a fitting pairing for the Manchester rapper, whose Fire in the Booth appearances helped carry him from grime battles to the top of the charts. It passed 8,000 views, and its comments do a little arithmetic of their own: one viewer cheerfully admits everyone is getting on a bit, another counts eleven years, and a Belfast viewer sends love to Manchester's 0161.

Among the music channels around its size, this is a calm stretch for the channel, while Rolling Stone and VibesOnly are running well above their usual pace. Calm suits a week spent handing the mic to rappers most viewers are hearing for the first time.
