'Obedience' from Disney Twisted-Wonderland keeps Hollywood Records humming in Japanese

Freya Skye's "bad taste" and two almost monday shorts about "french kids" made up the label's small run of new posts.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Hollywood Records, Disney's pop and rock label, spent the week on short teasers, but the songs doing the real work were sung in Japanese a month ago.

The four new uploads were all quick shorts. The busiest belongs to Freya Skye, pointing fans to her "bad taste" video with a caption about serving looks and drama and zero apologies. The description asks which lyric has been stuck in viewers' heads, and the few comments under it are simple declarations of devotion to Freya. The indie-pop band almost monday got two shorts out of "french kids": one from their performance on the Vevo studio stage, and a second joking that the song may never leave the label's own heads. A clip tagged The Narcoleptic's "Little Image" rounded things out.

The momentum sits elsewhere. "Obedience (Disney Twisted-Wonderland)" has passed 150,000 views in about a month and still draws more daily views than anything else on the channel, with "Far-Out" and "DIADEM" behind it. They come from a character song collection for the Japanese mobile game that reimagines Disney villains as students at a magical academy, an album of 32 tracks that also covers "This is Halloween" and "What's This?" from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Perhaps October is a good month for villains.

The channel as a whole is running well above its usual daily pace, even with a flat subscriber count. Among the music labels and media channels around its size it is one of the quieter accounts, with VibesOnly and Rolling Stone having the loudest weeks.
