Twin Engine Corsa builds the inlet its £450 Golf needs
Beardy and Rob have connected the full twin-turbo system, but finishing the plumbing is not the same as starting the engine.
Why this story? The whole channel is running at 110,018 views a day, 7.8 times a normal day (14,093).
My £450 Golf’s TWIN TURBO Setup Is FINALLY Done!
How do you connect two turbos to an engine sitting where a Golf's back seats used to be? For Twin Engine Corsa, the answer is to make an inlet manifold from scratch, shaped around the engine, the roll cage and the space left between them.
That is the fresh step in Beardy and Rob's latest upload, "My £450 Golf's TWIN TURBO Setup Is FINALLY Done!" The father-and-son team's channel has added about 110,000 views in a day, nearly eight times its usual daily audience.
Earlier instalments got the exhaust welded, the wastegates fitted and the charge cooler positioned. This episode joins those parts together: boost pipes route air from both turbos through the cooler and into the custom inlet for the rear-mounted VR6. The description makes the distinction clear: the system is connected, but the car is not running yet.
It is a particularly fitting job for a team whose own long-running Corsa project gave the channel its name. Their stated preference is building rather than buying, and this Golf's unusual layout leaves plenty that cannot simply come off a shelf.
The channel-wide rise accompanies the new episode, though it cannot all be attributed to that upload. As for the Golf, the next job Beardy and Rob name is the driveshafts.
