Truck House Life drew about 1.4 million views across the week, one of the larger totals among its nearby travel-channel peers. Subscribers stayed unchanged, though, and daily viewing is now well below its usual level.

The week's only upload, "I Can't Fix This," puts Tim and Eden's old Fords through a mountain-road workout. Before they even leave camp near Moab, Eden's hood latch needs attention behind the grille. Later, climbing the Million Dollar Highway through Ouray, Tim watches his transmission temperature rise. At Red Mountain Pass, Eden radios over a more immediate problem: her power steering has stopped working.

They pull off, let the truck rest and find the steering working again before continuing toward Silverton. It's an unusually practical version of a scenic drive: canyon roads and mountain views, with an eye kept firmly on the gauges.

The upload has reached roughly 163,000 views and is comfortably the channel's busiest video by daily viewing. "You Can't Camp Here Anymore" comes next, followed by the remote Salmon River camping and whitewater adventure.

Free-camping access remains part of Tim's conversation in the new vlog, but viewers bring their own emphasis: packing out waste and taking care of shared land. Others point to the particular consolation of truck camping when travel plans unravel: your home is already beside you.

That small domestic advantage gets its own moment after the mountain drive, when Eden prepares dinner inside her camper and Tim considers the bad weather forecast.

What viewers say

  • The nice thing about truck camping is your home is right there with you. If that means you have to spend several days in one area, so be it. Enjoy what's right outside your door.

  • Road trips are the best. People miss so much when they fly everywhere. There is only one thing better than traveling in a car and that is a good motorcycle trip. Enjoy your trip and be safe.
  • That's so crazy how the wheel was cracked thank god you had a spare tire

  • The thing about living the truck house/van/nomad life is you're not really supposed to have plans for anything. Plans just get in the way and cause unnecessary stress.
