How much can racecraft rescue when the car feels like a cruise ship? Tiametmarduk arrives in Las Vegas without practice, qualifies near the back in a Cadillac on realistic performance, then loses his saved setup when the lobby crashes. He starts with four extra laps of fuel. This is not the streamlined version of race preparation.

"Let's take our sailboat to pole position," he jokes during qualifying. Later, the ambition becomes rather more practical: "We're just going to have to get by on racecraft and vibes." Battery management, incidents ahead and a late switch to soft tyres eventually bring him home seventh.
