Julie Nolke's bathroom keeps its tile on TheSorryGirls

Becky and Kelsey use green paint, teal stars and a light-oak vanity to rethink the comedian's gray-and-white space.

The tile stays put. That is the constraint Becky Wright and Kelsey MacDermaid work around in "We ACTUALLY made this dated bathroom feel cozy," the biggest of TheSorryGirls' three uploads this week, with nearly 296,000 views.

Their client is actor and comedian Julie Nolke, and the project begins with a delicate demolition problem: removing fixtures without cracking the wall tiles they intend to keep. Dental floss fails to shift the ceramic soap dishes, so careful chiseling takes over. Then comes the color decision, with Riverdale green winning a three-swatch audition on the walls and ceiling.

The video is sponsored by Bath Fitter, whose installers fit acrylic shower panels over the existing shower tile. Elsewhere, the changes are smaller and more handmade: Becky experiments with waterslide decal paper to put teal stars on glazed trim tiles. A wider light-oak vanity neatly covers the exposed floor pipe, prompting her relieved verdict: "Oh, it covered everything that we were worried about!"

The comments offer a proper decorating conversation. Viewers ask for the return of longer mood-board introductions, debate losing medicine-cabinet storage and discuss the mix of warm and cool greens. Several also correct the hosts' explanation of the P-trap: its water seal keeps sewer gases out.

Two companion uploads focus on the paint decision and the tile hack. Across the channel, weekly viewing reached about 1.4 million, while subscribers were unchanged and daily viewing is below its usual pace. ForgeCore is having a much bigger viewing week among nearby DIY channels; TheSorryGirls' weekly total is close to Garden Answer's.

The bathroom isn't doing all the work, either. "Rug as wallpaper hack | did you trust the process?👀🤭" remains the channel's busiest upload right now, extending the life of that earlier no-wallpaper decorating experiment.

What viewers say

  • I kinda miss the longer intros where you show mood boards and talk through the design plan with photos and swatches

  • The mix of the greens is really amazing. I had no idea warm and cool greens would, like, blend into a beautful neutral environment. Nice job y'all!

  • I am so happy to see that that toilet roll holder opening faces the wall. I've encountered so many of this style that's just a bar with the open end faces out and you go to rip off the toilet paper and the whole roll ends up across the room.

  • They have nicer looking medicine cabinets nowadays. I would never want to lose that storage.
  • I love the tiny bits of whimsy, it's the perfect amount
  • I love how you guys are honest and helpful about making do with things you can’t change and ways to accommodate dated or off center fixtures. The bathroom looks gorgeous now!!!
