The Smily Fam plays 'Pop Tic Tac Toe!' again, and the comments crown an old champion
Of the shorts the channel posted on October 2, this is the one that took off, and its most liked comment is about the player who did not win.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 527,909 views a day, 21 times a normal first day on this channel (25,600).
Pop Tic Tac Toe!
Which of The Smily Fam's October 2 shorts took off? Not "Tennis Tic Tac Toe! Bro vs Sis" and not "Timer Relay Race! Girls vs Boys." Both had a fairly ordinary start. The one that ran was "Pop Tic Tac Toe!", a title the channel has used before. As we reported here, an earlier round under the same name ended with a girls' comeback.
This new round passed 400,000 views in its first 15 hours. A new short on the channel usually finishes its whole first day somewhere near 25,000.
The comment section is busier than usual too, already about four times a normal first day's worth, and it is mostly about who won and who did not. The most liked comment feels sorry for one of the players. Others joke that this player came along just for moral support, or that a different one was the sacrificial lamb of the game. Plenty more cheer the winner, the player in red. One viewer calls him the old champion back on top, and several mention his screaming.
It fits a strong stretch for the whole channel. It gained about 110,000 subscribers over the week and now sits just past 4.9 million, and its daily views are running at more than double their usual level. Among family channels close to its size, The Churco Family is also ahead of its normal pace, while Wu's World is having a quieter spell.
The games kept coming the next morning: three more shorts, one of them a "Halloween Tic Tac Toe Race!"
