"Dad Could Not Believe His Eyes": Nick Churco's face carries a six-million-view short
The comments are mostly about the moment he walks into the room, and about a daughter who seems ready for the gymnastics gym, or the fire station.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 6,109,164 views a day, 16 times a normal first day on this channel (377,869).
Dad Could Not Believe His Eyes
Among the big family channels, The Churco Family is having a lively few days. Its daily views are running well above its usual pace, as Shonduras and The Smily Fam are too, while Wu's World is quieter than normal.
Much of that comes from one short. "Dad Could Not Believe His Eyes," posted on October 1, passed six million views in its first day, on a channel where a new short usually ends that day short of 400,000. The comments came in about four and a half times faster than usual.
Those comments tell the story the title keeps back. One of the Churco daughters is swinging her way down something she probably should not be on, and the joke of the clip is Nick walking in and seeing it. Viewers keep coming back to his face. Some joke that she is clearly headed for gymnastics; others imagine her as a firefighter, a career Nick might find easier to watch.
It was not the only October 1 short doing well. "Our Toddler Didn't See This Coming," posted the same day, is past three million, and "Who Liked It The Most" from earlier in the week has crossed a million. The newest uploads point somewhere else entirely: "Baby Girl Is Coming So Soon!" is about the fifth Churco child, a baby the family's channel page says is on the way.
