Video taking off 23x its usual first day

A dab for 2016 as Cadel and Mia's 'Which year' series reaches Part 3

The third round of the couple's year-picking short has commenters arguing over 2016, 2018 and a 'smooth' 2024, and asking to see how it was made.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 4,545,070 views a day, 23 times a normal first day on this channel (196,419).

A new Cadel and Mia upload usually ends its first day somewhere around 200,000 views. "Which year is your FAV?! PT.3" had passed 3.4 million within fourteen hours.

The idea is the one in the title: the couple move through a run of years and leave viewers to pick a favorite. The title credits @sennejackson. When an earlier round went up, the comments kept naming 1983. This time the votes have moved forward several decades. The replies are split between 2016 and 2018, while the most liked comments single out 2024 as the smoothest of the set. The moment people quote most is a dab, which several viewers say looked personal. One viewer points out that the routine was filmed in the dark, and others ask for behind-the-scenes footage.

As it happens, the couple posted a short called "CAMERA MAN EXPOSED! BEHIND THE SCENES" the same day, and it also ran far ahead of the channel's usual first day.

It was not the only one. Part 3 led five shorts that all started well beyond the normal pace. The next strongest was a beach date that the title says was inspired by TikTok creator Brooke Monk, and the glasses gag returned once more with "Never taking my glasses off again." Two dance-trend videos from the same day, set to "Toxic" and "Ela Peida," moved at a much calmer speed.

The channel's about page still states the couple's goal: 50 million "family members." They now have 30.5 million subscribers, about 200,000 more than a week earlier.
