Rial, proxies and protests: Nikita Kapoor's Decoded leads three Iran hits for The Daily Jagran
Two more Iran reports posted the same day also ran far past the channel's usual start, while its explainers on France and Venezuela drew a few thousand views each.
Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 225,445 views a day, 26 times a normal first day on this channel (8,758).
Iran's Worst Nightmare! Downfall From All Sides! Proxy Empire Dead, Rial Crashes, Streets Erupt
Fourteen hours after it went up, the newest episode of Decoded with Nikita Kapoor had passed 170,000 views. That puts it on course for about twenty-five times a usual first day for The Daily Jagran, the English-language video arm of the Indian news group.
The episode asks whether Iran is collapsing from all sides at once. The description lays out the premise: for four decades Tehran preferred to work through allies rather than fight directly, among them Hezbollah in Lebanon, Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq and the Houthis in Yemen. Kapoor then walks through what the episode calls a meltdown on four fronts. Going by its tags, those are the pressure on that network, the fall of the rial, unrest in the Kurdish and Baluch regions, and the friction between hardliners and moderates around Masoud Pezeshkian, who was elected president in 2024.
It was not the channel's only Iran report to travel that day. A second video, on Israel and Saudi Arabia drawing closer over the Houthi threat, was close behind. A third, built on an Iran International investigation into the country's railway bridges and tunnels, also ran well ahead of normal. The Venezuela protest coverage and the French student explainer posted alongside them stayed near a couple of thousand views each.
In the comments, many viewers say they are watching from the United States and that this is coverage they do not find on their own networks. Others bring up Iran's long drought and drying reservoirs, a strain the video's title leaves out.
