Noah's Ark in Turkey? Kevin O'Sullivan asks, and TalkTV's comments answer

Ashley Hern joined him to talk through radar scans of the boat-shaped Durupinar formation near Mount Ararat, the week's most watched new upload.

TalkTV spent much of the week on hard news: the RAF Fairford arrests, the Flydubai cockpit attack and, on Friday, former NATO and Royal Navy commander Chris Parry on the Government's suggestion that Iran played a part in the activity near the base. Then the channel's busiest new video turned out to be about a boat that may or may not be made of rock.

In "Has Noah's Ark Been Found in Turkey? New Radar Scans Explained," Kevin O'Sullivan is joined by Ashley Hern to go through reports from the Durupinar site, a boat-shaped formation not far from Mount Ararat. The description promises ground-penetrating radar that found "corridors" under the earth, and soil samples that are said to match the 300 cubits of Genesis. Within about ten hours it had passed 30,000 views, well ahead of anything else the channel put up that day.

The comment section is not convinced it is news. Many viewers say they heard about the site decades ago, one points to anchor stones the segment left out, and others are busier making puns about it, along with a joke that forty days of rain sounds like an ordinary British summer.

Across fifteen uploads the channel ran a little above its usual daily pace, and the subscriber count held steady. Among the news networks around its size, only LBC gained more views over the week, while Times Radio and news.com.au also ran well above their usual pace and People was having a quieter stretch.
