Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

He's the Projected #1 Overall Pick! (Drew Mestemaker)

Strictly Football posted five videos, and its biggest new audience gathered around a quarterback whose high school résumé offered very little passing tape. "He's the Projected #1 Overall Pick! (Drew Mestemaker)" has reached roughly 410,000 views.

The Short recounts Mestemaker's time at Vandegrift High School in Texas, where he played safety and punter and attempted few varsity passes. It then follows his walk-on route through North Texas to Oklahoma State. The draft projection belongs to the video's scouting account, but the appeal of the story is more concrete: a player getting opportunities that his recruiting profile hardly promised.

Oklahoma State's meeting with Iowa State supplies the finishing highlights, including a five-touchdown performance. That game also gets its own upload, "I JUST WATCHED THE GAME OF THE YEAR! (OK State v Iowa State)." In the profile's comments, viewers recall watching Mestemaker at North Texas, discuss his accuracy and offer Josh Allen comparisons.

Elsewhere, Trae Taylor's response to the "overrated" label drew another substantial audience. The newer "His Mentality is DIFFERENT! (Gabe Player)" currently has the strongest daily momentum, with Mestemaker and Taylor next. A Caleb Hawkins profile rounds out the week's player-focused uploads.

The channel added roughly 2,000 subscribers over the week, while daily viewing is now about half again its usual level. Among nearby sports creators, BigBucketTony had a particularly large viewing week; Strictly Football's weekly audience was close in size to those of Zac Bell and We Got Ice. Here, the distinctive thread was the route from overlooked prospect to player worth watching.
