Iraqi Prime Minister 's decision to dismiss 69 advisers is a challenge to the political arrangements that placed them in his office, Iraqi political researcher Bahjat al-Kurdi argues in a televised interview.

Sky News Arabia, the United Arab Emirates-based Arabic news broadcaster, reports that the advisers were removed without a detailed explanation. Its description cites a failure to obtain clearance over state funds as the stated justification, but the discussion does not establish individual wrongdoing or explain how the dismissed advisers were selected.

Speaking from Vienna to presenter Fadila Souissi, al-Kurdi describes the decision as an awakening by al-Zaidi. He argues that the prime minister inherited a large group of advisers imposed through political quota-sharing under previous governments, rather than assembling the team himself.

When Souissi asks who was responsible for appointing so many advisers, al-Kurdi points to former prime minister and leaders of the . Al-Maliki governed Iraq from 2006 to 2014; the Framework brings together major Iraqi Shiite parties. Al-Kurdi's contention concerns their political responsibility for the appointments, not evidence presented against particular advisers.

Souissi presses a separate question: why have the dismissed advisers' names and the criteria for ending their contracts not been announced? Al-Kurdi offers a political interpretation rather than those missing details. He sees the move as a challenge to the Framework and Iran, while arguing that accumulated failures make institutional change and efforts against corruption difficult. He invokes Malaysia as a comparison for the scale of reform required.

The interview is briefly interrupted by a separate regional development. Citing Agence France-Presse, Souissi says the claim to have targeted the headquarters. No independent confirmation of that claim is presented in the segment.

The conversation then returns to Iraq, where the central distinction remains unresolved: dismissing advisers is a visible decision, but the basis for choosing those removed is not explained.
