A World Cup wave and old wisdom teeth on Ryan Trahan's secret channel

Nothing new went up on the 1.75-million-subscriber side channel, so an 85-day-old trip to a World Cup match is doing most of the work.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

My first World Cup game

No new uploads. Ryan Trahan's second channel, whose about text reads simply "secret channel" with a shushing emoji, took the week off, and the older videos kept it going at a gentler pace than usual.

The busiest of them is "My first World Cup game," posted almost three months ago and now past 1.6 million views. Its description sets a modest goal: he is going to start a wave. Whether the stadium joined in is something the video has to tell you.

Behind it sits a much older favorite. "I got my wisdom teeth out" went up more than three years ago, is past nine million views, and still draws thousands a day, with a description that promises day three hit different. A half marathon from about a year and a half back, tagged with Strava and captioned only "hi jude," completes the trio. That is the flavor of this channel: short, loose captions and small personal milestones, far from the big multi-day challenges that made his main channel famous.

Among the vlog channels close to it in size, the busy stretch belongs to Ava Jules, running at about twice her usual daily views, while Nathaniel Drew is ticking along at a scale much like Ryan's. Here, the World Cup video is still the one people are pressing play on.
