El partido de Flávio Bolsonaro reconoce la victoria de Lula da Silva en Brasil | RTVE Noticias
Recognition of Lula da Silva's victory does not mean Flávio Bolsonaro is abandoning every challenge to his opponent. A report from Spain's public broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española, on its RTVE Noticias channel, distinguishes acceptance of the presidential election result from Bolsonaro's stated intention to seek disqualification of Lula's electoral ticket.
The report opens with the Liberal Party accepting an opposition role after initially questioning the outcome. Bolsonaro appears in a self-recorded video promising to organize opposition against what he describes as chaos and barbarism. The senator is the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro; Lula, of the Workers' Party, returned to the presidency in 2023 after previously serving two terms.
Reporter Ana Torrico Mediato says Bolsonaro intends to challenge Lula's ticket over alleged abuse of power. An official Liberal Party statement shown near the end recognizes the result while demanding clarification about the electoral process. Acceptance of the count and continued objections therefore appear together in the party's response.
The bulletin also reports an order for Bolsonaro to surrender his passport and remain in Brazil. He calls the measure an attempt to intimidate him, while his team denies he has left the country. That denial belongs to this earlier bulletin: a subsequent report said he was traveling to the United States, as we reported here.
