Danny has a Game Gear, but no cartridge. That small omission in Rumble in the Bronx is exactly the sort of detail Rerez catches in "Video Game Movie Mistakes! - Rerez", the October upload carrying the channel's strongest daily momentum during a week without anything new.
The essay has passed 110,000 views, working through Hollywood's sometimes imaginative relationship with gaming hardware. In Mallrats, a Sega Genesis supposedly produces footage from a Saturn game. In Charlie's Angels, two boys use separate controllers for the single-player Final Fantasy VIII. Rerez doesn't need to object to the movies' larger fantasies when the controller situation is already this interesting.
The most elaborate detective work concerns RoboCop 2: an arcade cabinet labeled The Real Ghostbusters is actually showing Bandit, an unreleased Data East driving prototype identified by arcade archivist Phil Bennett. Later, 8-Bit Christmas supplies a calendar problem as well as missing Power Glove sensors: its Christmas setting falls before the accessory's North American release.
Across the catalog, Rerez collected roughly 308,000 views and added subscribers, although daily viewing is currently below its usual pace. Nearby gaming-commentary channels had a mixed week: ENDYMIONtv drew a substantially larger weekly audience, while Larry Bundy Jr had a quieter viewing week.
Perfect Weapon remains another source of daily views, but there's a more affectionate hardware story drawing viewers too. "Best Controller You've Never Used - Rerez" revisits force feedback through SideWinder joysticks, a gamepad and even a mouse, making room for technology Rerez wants back rather than another candidate for Just Bad Games.
