The words "The journey is the goal. Go enjoy it." were found in a note Spencer had written about a podcast. His older brother, the Minecraft speedrunner behind rekrap1, had them printed on the memorial cards for his funeral.
The video, posted under the plain title "my brother died," drew about 1.25 million views in its first 15 hours. As we reported here, subscribers rose sharply alongside it.
It opens directly: "My brother died two and a half weeks ago, and I'm going to talk about it because I think it's important to talk about death." He describes a late-night call from a highway patrol officer on his mother's phone, the drive to her house, and then driving his parents across town to tell his two other brothers in person. Spencer was the youngest, and he was 19.
The footage underneath is a Minecraft speedrun. He mentions Technoblade's habit of delivering serious updates over gameplay, and gives a reason of his own: "He was the one that actually got me into speedrunning."
Most of the video is about how Spencer lived. Over his last two years, his brother says, he had turned his life around through sports, school and pottery. The creator also shows his first tattoo, Spencer's art signature on his wrist.
He ends by urging viewers to step away from unhealthy distractions and to value the people close to them. A message on screen then asks them to respect the privacy of his brother and his family.
