Give him clown makeup, a big red nose and enormous shoes. The friends on BlobbyClips' animated couch are delighted with their character creation, right up until the game expects Mr. Gigglepants to attend a solemn military funeral.

His painted-on smile is not suited to the occasion. Neither, it turns out, is the sound the players have chosen for crying.

"Customizing Characters Gone Wrong! 🤣🤣" has drawn about 2.7 million views since yesterday. It's an original animated sketch, not footage of an actual game's customization menu, and its joke is the collision between a ridiculous avatar and cutscenes that carry on completely straight-faced.

Viewers are comparing the setup to Sonic Forces and Tomodachi Life, while others question which games would give players quite this much creative freedom. The friends' most regrettable choice isn't even something visible: "Why did we make that his crying noise?"
