Youssef Siher sceglie il silenzio. I legali: "Nessuna istigazione né terrorismo, torni libero"
Youssef Siher declined to answer questions before an investigating judge in Milan, while his lawyers rejected the accusations against him and sought his release, Italy's RaiNews, the news service of public broadcaster Rai, reports.
The report identifies Siher as a suspected operator of the Telegram channel "Movimento 17 Ottobre," created around the time of destructive unrest in central Milan. According to the report, the allegations concern incitement to commit crimes for terrorist purposes and organized violence at public demonstrations.
Speaking to reporters outside the courthouse, defense lawyer Yasmina Abu Sharar said Siher would speak at the appropriate stage of the proceedings. She maintained that he had done nothing wrong.
Prosecutors asked the judge to validate his detention and order him held in prison, citing risks of flight and further offending, the report says. Fellow defense lawyer Benedetto Ciccarone challenged both grounds. He said the defense saw neither strong evidence of guilt nor the conditions needed to justify pretrial custody.
The segment shows highlighted investigation documents and refers to material found on Siher's computer, without detailing it. At the time of the October 27 report, the judge's decision was expected by the following day.
