Femminicidio di Giulia Tramontano, i giudici riconoscono la premeditazione per Impagnatiello
A Milan court hearing a renewed appeal has recognized premeditation in Alessandro Impagnatiello's murder of Giulia Tramontano, Italy's RaiNews reports in a Tg2 segment by Francesco Perugini.
Tramontano was killed in May 2023 in Senago, near Milan, while seven months pregnant. The report explains that an earlier appeal had excluded premeditation as an aggravating circumstance before the Court of Cassation sent the issue back for reconsideration.
Prosecutors argued that Impagnatiello's intention to kill persisted over time, citing online searches about rat poison dating back to the preceding December. The renewed appeal court has now accepted the aggravating circumstance.
Speaking outside court, the Tramontano family's lawyer describes femicide as an act of power, domination and subjugation. A female relative also draws attention to the two women judges who delivered the decision, framing the family's pursuit of justice as part of a broader struggle over gender-based violence.
