La mareggiata interrompe la diretta: reporter spazzato via da un'onda
Sergio Ovejero is beginning a sentence about the danger on the coast when a wave surges over the sea wall. Water engulfs the reporter and camera, abruptly interrupting his live broadcast from Ondarroa, in Spain's Basque Country.
The footage, shared by Italy's RaiNews, shows Ovejero reporting on rough seas for the television program "Euskadi Quédate." Within seconds, the picture returns to the studio, where host Odei Esnaola looks startled by what has happened.
Esnaola says he hopes Ovejero and his colleague Raquel are all right and promises an update shortly. The clip then replays the moment the wave crashes over the coastal barrier.
That immediate uncertainty is resolved in the accompanying report: RaiNews says both Ovejero and Raquel, the camera operator working with him, were out of danger and had suffered no serious injuries.
