Random Love

What happens when someone interrupts Phil Hanley's crowd work to announce their love for him? He makes it part of the conversation he's already having with someone else.

In "Random Love," Connie says her type is tall and older, giving Hanley an opening to discuss his own eligibility. He meets her friend Sam, a massage therapist, then turns to AJ and his wife for questions about how they met and their age difference. But Connie hasn't been forgotten. When a man calls out, "I love you, Phil!", Hanley turns the interruption into a complaint: "Connie, would it kill you to say that once in a while?"

That return to Connie is a recurring subject in the comments, alongside viewers joking about how often Hanley's audience encounters involve couples who met at work. The clip has reached roughly 354,000 views, making it the week's most-watched new upload and the busiest of his videos right now.

"Tooth and Nailed" also drew a substantial audience, while "Modern Romance" arrived near the end of the week and is already attracting more daily views than that earlier upload.

Across the channel, daily viewing is almost exactly at its usual level, with just over four million views added during the week and the subscriber count unchanged. Among nearby stand-up channels, Denny love and ISMO had larger weekly viewing gains and growing subscriber counts. Hanley's week was steadier, with three fresh clips and a crowd-work exchange that lets an unsolicited declaration of love do double duty.
