The Phantom has a few more surprises up his sleeve…
The Phantom of the Opera has followed its score-remixing project with something from the cutting-room floor: orchestral outtakes that its new teaser says were discovered on the original tapes.
"The Phantom has a few more surprises up his sleeve…" is the most-watched of the channel's three new uploads, with roughly 9,000 views. Archival images of Christine, the Phantom and stage dancers accompany title cards announcing previously unheard material for The Andrew Lloyd Webber 2026 Mix's digital deluxe edition. It is a release advert rather than a standalone performance, but the original-tape detail gives listeners something specific to be curious about: familiar music in an alternative orchestral form.
Two further promotional uploads arrived on Friday, one about signed CDs and another announcing the bonus tracks. Both are currently attracting views faster than the earlier teaser, though the teaser has accumulated the larger audience. In its comments, viewers return to their favourite portrayals of Christine and the Phantom, without naming the performers they mean.
Across the channel, the week brought about 419,000 views, while the subscriber count stayed unchanged. It was a smaller weekly audience than those of nearby music channels BandLab and Riot Games Music; Riot also added subscribers, while BandLab's count held steady.
The outtakes offer a different route into songs that already have a long life here. Emmy Rossum's "Think of Me" film clip remains the channel's most-watched regular upload, making that song's orchestral offcut a particularly apt addition to the archive.
