Most cheaters who get caught simply disappear. The Mario Kart Wii player at the center of "Cheater Faked His Death" invented a girlfriend, then a death, then a memorial video to go with it.
The new penguinz0 upload, which has drawn just over a million views since yesterday, is Charlie White's reaction to "The Mario Kart Cheater who Faked his Death," a video essay by zilla. White says he had to watch it the moment he saw it, and he explains why early on. He never owned a Wii growing up, yet the game's glitches, speedruns and lore have a strange hold on him: "I feel like I know Mario Kart Wii more than I know my own dad."
The story starts with an account called PT Walter, which used a live replay cheat to copy world-record times onto the leaderboards. When that identity wore thin, the disguises were not subtle: a new flag, Australia this time, and a new account, RS Black, whose channel banner gave the game away by reading "Black/Walter."
Then came Mia, presented as Walter's girlfriend and supposedly fast enough to beat his record. The finale arrived in 2011 under the name Razor: a memorial titled "[MKWii] Goodbye Razor †," scored with "Bad Day" and opening with the line "A smaller boy from Hessen is died." White reads it aloud more than once. In the comments, German speakers explain that the odd phrasing is a word-for-word translation from German, and many viewers fixate on the girlfriend named Mia racing as a Mii.
The essay ends with a 2014 forum confession, in which the player wrote that he had cheated as a kid to look cool in front of his friends. Then comes the last turn: he went back to cheating under new names in other games, Trackmania among them. "Did you see that twist coming, cuz I truly didn't," White says, before admitting he has not seen many cheating stories quite like this one.

Having “Mia” use the Mii character is so on the nose it’s brilliant.
@ChinChilla__See it on YouTubeGerman guy here, the weird text is because the kid is from Germany or Austria (Charly said Austria but Hessen is in Germany) and translated whatever he wanted to say into English word by word, so it has the German sentence structure and sounds super weird in English
