Jack Pembrook carries a parchment scroll around Detroit with six tasks written on it: fuel up, take the bus, hit the casino, have a beer with the boys, get dinner and walk 7 Mile Road. Joe Bartolozzi follows every step from his own chair.

"How Bad Is The Most Dangerous U.S. City At Night?" is a reaction stream, not a trip of Bartolozzi's own. He watches Pembrook's "I Pulled an All Nighter in the Most Dangerous City" and talks over it. The title's question gets its answer through people rather than statistics.

The night starts in room 25 of the Viking Motel, where Pembrook runs a blacklight over the stains. Bartolozzi is more forgiving than most: "Bro, I think motels get a bad rap." At a convenience store Pembrook buys a beer for a man named Reggie, who sends him off with "Be careful out here." Bartolozzi's advice is simpler: "Don't big dog somebody that has nothing to lose."

The bus stop brings the stream's most personal turn. Bartolozzi admits he doesn't know if he has ever taken a regular city bus, then explains his upbringing: "Does Joe Bart have money now? Yes. Did Joe Bart have money until now? No."

Pembrook wins at roulette in the MotorCity Casino and hands the winnings to the player who picked the color. Then he invites his Uber driver, Yousef, into the Kwicky Bar. "Alright, I think we found Jack's social barrier," Bartolozzi says, but Yousef comes in and orders lemonade. Later come a local rapper, Tommy Global, a motorcycle rally outside the American Serbian Memorial Hall and a cheeseburger from Carlissa James's food stand, eaten on a curb.

The last task is the 5 a.m. walk, which passes a house party, a crashed car and a man holding a steel pipe before it ends at sunrise on a rooftop. Bartolozzi's final note is technical: Pembrook shot it on an iPhone.

The comment section moved at nearly twice the channel's usual first-day pace. Viewers from Detroit say the city is calmer than its reputation if you mind your own business, and one running joke asks why the video wasn't filmed in Tarpon Springs, Florida.
