All is not well in the land of LagOz #CynthiaErivo #SNLUK #Wicked #Elphaba

A hardboiled egg is enough to strain this version of Wicked's central friendship. Elphaba peels one in bed, irritating her roommate Glinda, played by Cynthia Erivo with very little patience for the smell.

Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the Wicked films, takes the other side of the bedroom in this Saturday Night Live UK sketch. Ayoade Bamgboye plays Elphaba in "Nigerian Wicked," a deliberately low-budget Nollywood-style trailer complete with dramatic narration and a map charting the journey to the Wizard.

Peacock posted the excerpt five days ago. It has now passed 100,000 views, with roughly 87,000 arriving over the past day. That is a sharp acceleration for this particular upload, while the channel's overall daily viewing remains close to its usual level.

The sketch's LagOz has its own practical problems. Professor Goat is an actual goat. Glinda wants the Wizard to get her a Birkin, but his knockoff watch and curdled drink suggest their grand expedition may not deliver the luxury she expects.

Viewers are trading the egg joke and the Wizard's catchphrases in the comments. Others have spotted the camera crew reflected in a mirror, another detail that fits the trailer's bargain-budget presentation. Requests for a longer version, including the musical numbers, are turning up too: this imaginary adaptation already has people asking for more than a trailer.
