Video taking off 15x its usual first day

Cornell reopened, a flydubai cockpit and a jobs number: the Home Team's turn on PBD Podcast #866

Posted the same day as the Sammy Gravano interview, Patrick Bet-David's roundtable nearly kept pace with it, and its comment section is mostly about the people around the table.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 200,245 views a day, 15 times a normal first day on this channel (13,129).

Cornell Case Reopened, Tel Aviv Plane Attack & Jobs Report Update | PBD Podcast #866Cornell Case Reopened, Tel Aviv Plane Attack & Jobs Report Update | PBD Podcast #866

Two episodes of PBD Podcast went up on October 1, and both took off. The Sammy "The Bull" Gravano interview, episode #865, is still slightly ahead, as we reported here. Its companion, #866, passed a quarter of a million views in about thirty hours, roughly fifteen times what a new episode on the channel usually gathers in its first day. Between them, the two have the channel drawing more than twice its usual daily views.

Where #865 was one long conversation with a former Gambino underboss, #866 is Patrick Bet-David and the Home Team working through the news. It opens on the jobs report, with unemployment at 4.2 percent and the market rising anyway. Then comes the flydubai flight to Tel Aviv, where, in the words of the episode's own chapter title, a plumber stopped a hijacking. The panel wonders whether passengers should know more about the pilots flying them, a question the channel cut into a short of its own the next day.

The longest stretch, close to twenty-five minutes, goes to the reopened Cornell University investigation and the civil suit the accuser has now filed. A follow-up short notes that the case is under a fresh criminal review led by New York Attorney General Letitia James.

The back half turns to heating bills, Uber prices, Sonny Gray's final start and the pine tar accusations that came with it, and baseball attendance.

Much of the comment section is about the panel itself. Tom Ellsworth's advice to young men and their parents about choices and consequences draws a lot of praise. One viewer admits to agreeing with Adam Sosnick for the first time ever over Cornell, while others notice Bet-David leaving more room for Adam and Vincent Oshana to finish their points. The old show line "Adam, what's your point" has even made it into the intro.
