Running out of food sounds like bad news at a wedding. Sullivan Brown's teammates must decide just how bad, and whether a funeral would be worse. That is the opening puzzle in "What Were You Thinking? | Episode 1", No Rolls Barred's move into a studio comedy game show inspired by Wavelength.

Laurie Blake hosts, with Sullivan, Kemah Bob and Lil Wenker facing Dom Allen, Pravanya Pillay and Chris Grace. A hidden target on a spectrum determines where each clue should send the team's dial. The reasoning is where things get wonderfully tangled: Dom offers Snoopy somewhere between man's best friend and worst enemy; Kemah supplies "Sorry." on a scale from passive aggression to psychological warfare.

The episode drew roughly 117,000 views, making it the most-watched of the week's six uploads. Viewers are discussing Laurie's panel-show hosting style, the surprise of discovering a real studio audience and the wedding-food argument. Later, the format makes room for impressions blending Michael Caine with Harry Kane, and Stephen Fry with Gollum.

Across the channel, nearly 930,000 weekly views came with modest subscriber growth. Daily viewing is above its usual pace. Nearby board-gaming channel Shut Up & Sit Down had a smaller viewing week, while Tiktok BoardGames drew a much larger audience.

The new show also carries the strongest daily momentum, with its companion clip and the older "Operation, But SERIOUS" among the other busy uploads. Operation supplied several of this week's short clips, but Blair took the week's biggest departure from the tabletop: an announcement that she is learning to wrestle with Michael Oku before appearing at Electric Brixton later in November.

What viewers say

  • I do enjoy Laurie’s hosting ordinarily, but I’ll admit that he seems SO in his element doing more traditional hosting like this. I know it’s probably not /that/ different from plenty of other things he’s done, but he really did feel very natural hosting like a ‘proper’ panel show sort of thing.
