Video taking off 26x its usual first day

Ravens' sideline confidence meets Kyle Hamilton's game-ending interception

NFL on CBS pairs Baltimore's reaction to Tua Tagovailoa entering the game with the pass that ends it.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 145,334 views a day, 26 times a normal first day on this channel (5,647).

Nate Wiggins spots two things from the Ravens sideline: the opposition has no timeouts left, and Tua Tagovailoa is coming in. He and Kyle Hamilton start rallying the defense. Then the edit cuts to an "A Few Moments Later" card.

What follows gives the sideline exchange its punch: Tagovailoa drops back, throws, and Hamilton intercepts the pass to seal Baltimore's win. Hamilton goes from talking about the quarterback to collecting his throw within a few seconds of screen time. The Short combines sideline footage credited to the Ravens with game action credited to NBC.

NFL on CBS's upload has drawn nearly 99,000 views in 12 hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short. Its comment section is also much busier than a typical opening day, with viewers focusing on the connection between the defenders' confidence and the interception.

It's not the channel's only unusually strong Short: a Deion Sanders return-to-Atlanta throwback and a Russell Wilson highlight-guessing video also drew large openings. But the Ravens clip has the biggest audience of that trio so far.
