Syed Suhail | MLC Election Result : EVM नहीं, बैलेट पेपर… फिर भी कांग्रेस ZERO! | UP News | Bihar
Congress came away without a seat in the legislative council contests highlighted by Syed Suhail, according to his brief report for India's Hindi-language news channel NDTV India.
Suhail says the party contested five seats in Bihar without winning any, fielded three unsuccessful candidates in Maharashtra and lost all four seats it contested in Karnataka. In Uttar Pradesh, he says, Congress did not contest. That is a different outcome from standing candidates and losing, although the on-screen presentation groups all four states under the same empty-handed message.
MLC stands for Member of the Legislative Council, the upper chamber found in some Indian state legislatures. These are not national parliamentary elections, and council seats are filled through several routes, including elections involving legislators, local authorities, teachers and graduates.
The video's framing, "Not EVMs but ballot papers... Congress still wins zero!", contrasts the reported results with the voting method. The short segment supplies state-level tallies, but does not identify the individual constituencies or examine why the party's candidates lost.
One of India's two major political parties, also known as the Indian National Congress. Founded in 1885, it played a leading role in India's independence movement.
