An antimatter katana, Poké Ball powers and thirteen shorts for Mini Katana

A sword billed as the first ever made of antimatter arrived at the end of a week that also asked what is scarier than a ghost.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Mini Katana's about text promises a longer video on the last Saturday of each month and original shorts every day in between, and the shorts kept that promise. Thirteen uploads went up this week, mostly the channel's familiar mix of sword lore and anime-flavored jokes.

The most watched of them is "Throwing Balls Is Actually An ELITE Power," whose tags point straight at Pokémon. It has passed 460,000 views. It has company from the same world: "This Anime Has ENDLESS Episodes!!" is tagged for the longest-running series, Pokémon among them. The sword side of the channel showed up too, with "3 Things You Should NOT Do With A Dull Sword!!!" and its more polite sibling, "3 Things Every Sword Owner Should Know!!!"

The newest uploads are getting the most attention right now. "We Made The First Ever ANTIMATTER Katana" is a day old and gathering views faster than anything else on the channel. Its tags call it the most expensive sword and promise an unboxing, which seems a fair tease for a blade made of something that famously does not sit still. "Having This Superpower Is OP In Everyday Life" comes right behind it, and "The Only Thing More TERRIFYING Than A Ghost" is still busy four days in.

With 23 million subscribers, Mini Katana is second in size among the comedy sketch channels nearest it, behind only Smosh. That group's biggest daily audience belongs to Speed McQueen, while Smosh, BuzzFeedVideo and Stromedy are all running a little above their usual pace. Mini Katana spent its week much as its about page says it would, with a short nearly every day and one sword it bills as a first.
