School start times, India's alarm clock and Teacher Tommy T's eight shorts

A question about when the school day begins around the world is the newest of his shorts and the one moving fastest, two days after it went up.

Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.

Eight shorts, all about school. Teacher Tommy T, who describes himself as an SEN teacher and a dad, spent the week doing what his about text promises: real classroom moments with a bit of honest humor, most of them ending in a question for whoever is watching.

The newest is the busiest. "India really said 'hold my alarm clock'" asks viewers what time their school starts, and in about a day and a half it passed 375,000 views, gathering them faster than anything else on the channel. A day earlier he had set the uni students' famously late mornings against a full school timetable, and that one has passed a million.

The biggest first day belonged to "It should be a national holiday!", which drew more than 1.2 million views in its first 24 hours and has since settled down. The class singalong short, asking which song pupils have been singing nonstop, took the opposite route: a modest start, then a steady climb past a million, and it is still the second-quickest mover. Close behind sits a day-old short about English teachers who could overanalyze an ice cream.

For all that, the channel as a whole ran well below its usual daily pace. Among the comedy channels nearest it in size, Off The Hook and Fairbairn Films are the ones having the big stretch, both running at roughly three times their usual level. 1980sGamer and DarrenLevyOfficial are also above their normal pace, while Throttle Confessions and Matt Storer are a little quieter.
