Mike Rafi asks what AI fakes do to real evidence
His most-watched upload of the week explains why exposing a fabrication may require a digital trail, not a closer look.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Fake AI Evidence
Spotting the fake is only half the problem for Mike Rafi. In "Fake AI Evidence," he argues that convincing fabrications can also make jurors suspicious of recordings and photographs that are genuine.
The upload reached about 2.5 million views, making it the most watched of his seven posts this week. Rafi moves from fabricated threats to a voice-cloning case involving a Maryland school principal, then explains how investigators uncovered the deceptions through purchase records, internet history and device data. "Both fakes were caught the same way and not by looking at them," he says.
His courtroom point is straightforward: evidence has to be authenticated. He describes a proposed federal evidence rule that would require someone offering a recording or photograph to prove it genuine once a plausible claim of AI fabrication arose. The committee, he says, chose not to implement it yet. Several viewers raise the reverse problem in the comments: authentic evidence being dismissed as AI.
Elsewhere, "The Unfireable Judge" and "Lying Client" each drew substantial audiences. The strongest viewing momentum now belongs to "A Judge Jailed Two Kids," followed by the newer "Contact Sports Assault?", giving the latter part of the week its own activity beyond the AI upload.
Rafi added about 10,000 subscribers over the week, continuing to grow, though more slowly than his monthly average. Nearby in channel size, Law&Crime Trials added a similar number of subscribers, while Nancy Grace's count was unchanged. For Rafi, the week's most developed argument remains the distinction between catching false evidence and preserving trust in the real thing.
