"Is this serious?" Simon Cowell asks as a gold cloth hovers unconvincingly over the America's Got Talent stage. Siegfried & Joy are in sparkly jackets, attempting levitation, but concealing the effort is not exactly their priority.

The comedy duo's audition appears in "They had the judges SO confused! #shorts", an excerpt posted by the clips channel Magician's Got Talent. It has drawn around 130,000 views in its first 12 hours, already far beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short.

This is magic performed with the mishaps left conspicuously in view. Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara reach for their red buzzers; a covered performer crawls awkwardly out from behind the cloth. Later, a stagehand in a yellow Minion hoodie walks on and carries the assistant away beneath it. The supposed disappearance comes with its own visible removal service.

Howie Mandel offers a different verdict: "I love that. I love that."

The duo then introduce a red "prediction tunnel" and ask Cowell to choose a numbered card. He thinks he has already spotted the banana-themed answer. When the chosen card says something else, his objection is wonderfully literal: "That doesn't say banana."
