Seth Meyers has struck gold with Donald Trump and the Nordic countries before. "Trump's Weird Lie About Raking in Finland: A Closer Look," from 2018, is still among the most watched videos on his channel. This time the country is Norway, and the president's verdict is blunt. "Frankly, Norway sucks," Trump tells a rally, in a clip where he also complains about not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize: "I said, what about me? Do they do two of them?"

Meyers answers with an impression of a Norwegian taking in the news, then a joke about wanting a BAFTA. It is one stop in a segment about closing messages a week before the election. It opens with a 2008 clip of Barack Obama's closing pitch, set against Trump's very different style at the podium.

NBC's Kristen Welker then asks Republican Senate nominee Mike Rogers whether he considers himself a "MAGA Republican." In a second clip, asked about Trump's agenda, Rogers says he is having difficulty with his earpiece. Meyers responds with a hairdryer. The channel also cut that moment into a Short of its own.

The White House makeover in the title comes near the end. Campaigning in Michigan alongside Abdul El-Sayed, Obama says Trump has "the White House looking like Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory." Meyers sets the online backlash against footage of Elon Musk at CPAC, calling to "legalize comedy."

The segment drew about 1.5 million views in its first day, and comments arrived at three times the channel's usual first-day pace, with Norway and the Nobel Prize coming up again and again. The monologue from the same night, which teased this Closer Look, also started unusually fast.

Meyers ends the segment on Trump telling a rally crowd, "I could say the stupidest things and you'd clap."
