Smash or Pass with the Russian alphabet, and a polyglot confession past a million
Language Simp's one new upload put Cyrillic letters on trial, while 'All Polyglots Are Faking It' crossed seven figures in under a month.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
Smash or Pass: Russian Alphabet
Which Cyrillic letters would a self-described hyperpolyglot keep, and which would he toss? That is the whole premise of "Smash or Pass: Russian Alphabet," the only new video on Language Simp this week. It went up on September 26 and has gathered about 55,000 views since.
Russian is familiar ground for the channel. Back in June, "Why Learning Russian Feels IMPOSSIBLE" took viewers through ten levels of difficulty, starting with the alphabet and moving through word stress, cases and verb aspect before ending on the verbs of motion that famously trip up learners. Three months on, it still turns up among the channel's busier videos, so the new alphabet game has a ready audience behind it.
The real momentum belongs to "All Polyglots Are Faking It." It is less than a month old, has passed a million views, and is still moving several times faster than the new upload. It is a provocative title for a channel whose about page calls its creator a 27-year-old hyperpolyglot, and maybe that is the point.
Overall, the channel is right at its usual pace. Among the explainer and education channels of its size, WatchData and Horses are having far bigger days, while Philosophy Tube and KoreanClass101 sit quieter. Language Simp is in the comfortable middle, still playing favorites with alphabets.
