A chocolate cherry pearl and a war survivor's story for Kamoka Pearl
Four uploads from the Tahitian pearl farm, while a seven-week-old tour of how the world's priciest pearls are grown passed eight million views.
Why this story? The channel's weekly summary: what went up this week, what is drawing views now, and where the channel stands among similar channels.
What have our oysters been hiding 👀
On a usual day, Kamoka Pearl draws a little under 300,000 views, and right now it is running slightly above that. Almost none of the lift comes from the new uploads. It belongs to "Farming the most expensive pearls on Earth," posted seven weeks ago, which has passed eight million views and still brings in roughly half the channel's daily audience on its own.
The farm, whose about text promises sustainable Tahitian pearls "cultured with love by pirates," still kept the boats busy. Four videos went up. Two follow its favorite ritual of opening an oyster to see what is inside: a teasing "What have our oysters been hiding 👀," the best opener of the four, and "Chocolate Cherry Pearl Emerges From This Oyster 🍫🍒," which is only hours old and already moving faster than anything else from the week. Between them came a short case for the house product, "Why Tahitian Pearls Are Better Than Other Pearls," and the most unexpected title of the batch, "From Surviving The War To Becoming A Pearl Farmer," a life story that so far has the smallest audience of the four.
The subscriber count held steady at about 1.8 million. Among the outdoors and homesteading channels of a similar size, Nate Petroski is having the standout stretch, at roughly double his usual pace, and Field Days is well above its own. Kamoka Pearl is busy too, in its own way: one oyster at a time, with an August video still carrying a lot of the load.
