Where does the basketball begin? Not until Toronto. Before Jared McCain trains with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, his August vlog makes room for a Palm Springs retreat, disputed pickleball calls and outdoor yoga the following morning.

McCain explains the retreat's purpose early: "It's just like, put the phone down, reset, before we go into the hecticness of a season." Nate, credited for the video, has a more immediate sporting concern: proving how versatile he can be while playing in slides.
