Liverpool v Chelsea Sparks ALIGHT with TWO quick pens!

Ryan Gravenberch's foul gives Chelsea an opening. Wesley Fofana's outstretched hand gives Liverpool a way back. Between them, Darren England points to the spot twice, turning a goalless game at Anfield into a rapid exchange of penalties.

ITV Sport's Short, "Liverpool v Chelsea Sparks ALIGHT with TWO quick pens!", passed 84,000 views in its opening seven hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for Shorts.

Morgan Rogers takes the first penalty, beating the Liverpool goalkeeper and celebrating Chelsea's lead with his teammates. But a Liverpool corner soon brings another whistle. Fofana leaps for the ball, which brushes his fingers, and England awards the home side a penalty amid brief Chelsea protests.

The replay gives viewers a close look at the contact. There is no trip to a pitchside monitor: as the commentator explains, "There is no VAR and his decision is final."

Cody Gakpo then puts his kick into the bottom corner to bring Liverpool level. The clip captures the exchange rather than the match's eventual resolution, which ITV Sport covers in separate uploads: Liverpool went through to the quarterfinals after a penalty shootout. Its postgame reaction video adds a rather less composed detail in its title: "My cheat-sheet was upside down!"
