Bensei gives his birthday cake the meteor-hammer treatment

The outdoor celebration brings a dinosaur-spiked party hat, protective goggles and an unusually busy comment section.

Why this story? The video drew 1,094 comments in its first day, 15 times a normal first day on this channel (73).

Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes! It was truly a wonderful day🥰🫂 #benseiarmy

Bensei puts protective goggles over his glasses before stepping back from the birthday cake. Cutting a slice is apparently not on the agenda.

The instructor_bensei creator marks his 30th birthday by setting the cake on an outdoor stand, adding candles and winding up his meteor hammer. The weight flies forward and scatters the cake. He catches it, gives a thumbs-up and tells the camera: "Thank you all for the birthday wishes, guys."

For someone whose channel introduction boils his work down to bonking things with a rock, it is a fitting birthday ritual. The green dinosaur-spiked party hat stays part of the outfit, alongside a Godzilla shirt.

The Short's viewing was ordinary for the channel, but its first-day comments arrived at fifteen times the usual level. Among the birthday wishes, viewers joke about having a smashing day, discuss this unusually literal smash cake and recall discovering Bensei through his fantasy-weapon videos and Min-Maxed. One viewer describes an immediate concern for the cake, rather than the candles.
