An incredible entry from Jarod! #benseiarmy #meteorhammer
instructor_bensei sends a stack of metal washers spinning into tires, through ice and straight into asphalt. Jarod's Meteorsmith Challenge entry is called "The Laundromat," and the name gives viewers plenty to work with before the testing even begins.
The homemade meteor hammer has an epoxy-coated washer head suspended from a cord. Bensei starts with flowing, twirling movements, praising its balance, before moving on to impacts. A bent center bolt appears after the tire test, but there is considerably more punishment to come.
The Short drew roughly 130,000 views in 11 hours, well ahead of the channel's usual first-day Shorts audience. Its comment section had already gathered more than four times the usual full-day number of comments.
Much of that conversation concerns an unexpectedly resilient object. Viewers debate whether the washers' ability to bend helps explain its survival, imagine it as scavenged equipment in a post-apocalyptic world, and supply the laundry wordplay Bensei left on the table. His verdict of "Simple and effective" prompts one viewer to suggest that "clean" was the missing word.
Bensei's own inspection is more qualified than a simple survival verdict. The epoxy has loosened, the bolt has bent and the rope shows slight fraying. Still, he says, "But it passed every part of the Meteorsmith competition and did what I needed it to do."

@BossHammSee it on YouTubeLaundromat is one of my favorites of the season. Maybe not built to be passed down from generation to generation, but a simple, repeatable construction that hits hard and effectively. I adore it
@G_RezSee it on YouTubeI like it. Simple, affordable, easy to build, and it has the mad max post-apocalyptic look. That person can live in my zombie apocalypse fortress.
