Bensei gives Jacques ze Whipper an ice-block challenge

A chain-section whip, a slow-motion break and an ill-advised hydration joke bring an unusually fast start to the martial arts channel.

Why this story? The video opened at a pace of 167,557 views a day, 7.1 times a normal first day on this channel (23,594).

Can you whip an Iceblock?? #benseiarmy #martialarts #whip

Jacques ze Whipper thinks the chain will do it. Standing beside Instructor Bensei with an ice block to break, he reckons that is the part of his whip he needs to land.

Getting it there takes some adjustment. His first strike clips the top edge; another catches with the braided section instead, knocking off only a small piece. Then comes the clean hit, with the top half of the block shattering in slow motion.

Bensei's "Can you whip an Iceblock?? #benseiarmy #martialarts #whip" passed 108,000 views in its first 11 hours, already well beyond the channel's usual full-day audience for a Short. The comments were nearly five times as numerous as on a normal first day, too.

For a creator whose introduction is "I bonk things with a rock," bringing in a whip performer gives the familiar object-breaking experiment a different rhythm: checking the range, ducking clear and working out which part of a flexible weapon actually connects.

Viewers are discussing the chain's weight and durability, along with the way the whip curls around Jacques after the break. Others want Bensei to bring his meteor-hammer skills to one of Jacques's shows.

The demonstration doesn't finish with the shattered ice. Jacques leans toward the remaining block for a lick, announcing, "Gotta stay hydrated." Bensei immediately tries to stop him. Breaking the ice turns out to be the easier part of supervising this guest.

Chain whips feel like the way to make them remotely viable weapons since you still have the ludicrous speed but also added weight and durability

Now we need one with Bensai at one of Jack's shows and doing a song with a meteor hammer styled dance.
