Drivers Encounter Significant Flooding Along I-17 In Arizona

They made it home. That closing caption supplies the reassurance in Christina Grampp Hibbert's footage of a drive through floodwater on Interstate 17 near Flagstaff.

Before it appears, the camera shows muddy water stretching across the roadside landscape past Munds Park, with debris floating beside the highway. Through the rain-streaked windshield, vehicles move slowly through standing water, hazard lights visible ahead. "This is the freeway," Hibbert says.

The clip carried by FOX Weather drew roughly 140,000 views in its first day, compared with about 8,000 for a usual Short on the channel. Its comment section was also much busier than usual, with viewers warning against entering flooded roads and describing how unfamiliar the route looked.

The channel's Arizona coverage has since widened beyond that drive. A separate upload shows floodwaters surging through Sabino Canyon; FOX Weather reports that water levels there rose several feet within minutes. Another shows Sedona, where persistent rainfall has fueled a flood threat. Both have also drawn unusually large early audiences, though the I-17 footage remains the most watched of these three uploads.
