The wrestling wasn't enough. Movsar Evloev repeatedly tried to put Alexander Volkanovski on the canvas at UFC 333, but the Australian champion kept finding a way out, then found his finish.

FOX SPORTS AUSTRALIA's recap follows the featherweight title defense in Abu Dhabi from cage-side takedown attempts to a second-round reversal. Evloev gets Volkanovski down; Volkanovski sweeps into top position. Back on their feet, the champion lands clean combinations against the cage before following Evloev to the mat. Referee Mark Goddard stops the contest with seconds remaining in the round.

Afterward, Volkanovski embraces his opponent. On commentary, Daniel Cormier points out that the champion had predicted a second-round finish: "Dude, he called it! He said he was going to finish this fight in the second round."

The recap passed 210,000 views a little over a day after publication, far beyond the channel's usual opening audience. Its first-day comment section was about thirty-five times busier than usual, and much of the conversation goes beyond the punches.

Viewers propose a statue, national sporting recognition and even a place on an Australian banknote. Others take issue with the introduction's suggestion that Volkanovski has only just attained legendary status, arguing that his earlier achievements already settled that question.

FOX SPORTS AUSTRALIA has also posted a follow-up about his return home, in which Volkanovski discusses a possible lightweight title attempt and how much longer he plans to fight. Another featherweight defense is complete; the possibility of a different championship is his next talking point.

In one of the most unforgiving sports on the planet, Volk has consistently shown - win or lose - how to walk like a champion. While all around him, younger talents flare up and fade away he endures and gets better. He embodies the attitude "adversity is a privilege". In and out of the Octagon, he remains humble and respectful. He is unquestionably one of the GOATs of MMA.
