- 1:27Trump emphasizes veto power and says Democratic politicians have already called him.
- 4:15He argues that loyal MAGA supporters did not turn out strongly enough for candidates they disliked.

- 10:01He denies immediate plans to overhaul his cabinet and describes midterm setbacks as historically typical.
- 20:20Asked about Republican successors in 2028, Trump praises the party's talent but declines to name individuals.
- 21:29He withholds names of formidable Democratic contenders, saying he does not want to elevate them.
Asked who could follow him, Donald Trump offers praise without names. Asked which Democrat would be most formidable, he says naming someone would give that person an advantage.
That exchange comes near the end of Fox News's extended election-night phone interview with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. Beyond the veto remarks featured in shorter excerpts, the conversation reaches the next presidential contest and the question of Trump's endorsement.
"I think we have an unbelievable bench of talent," Trump says of Republicans, while saying it is too early to identify potential successors. He is more explicit about withholding names on the Democratic side: "Well, I'd rather not say because I actually know some that I think would be formidable, but I don't want to put them in play."
The interview follows Fox's projection that Democrats will control both the House and Senate. Trump expresses surprise at Republican losses, argues that his supporters were less motivated by other candidates, and emphasizes his ability to reject legislation.
He also leaves room for cooperation, saying he can work with Democrats on selected issues, including immigration. He denies immediate plans for a cabinet overhaul and, when Baier asks whether he will accept the results and work with the new Congress, confirms that he will.
The full interview drew roughly 2.2 million views since yesterday. Trump closes by congratulating Democrats on their campaign: "They did a good job."
