"She was gifted. She was gifted. And my soulmate," Allan says of his daughter, the co-pilot killed with eight others in a Learjet crash.

Speaking at a press conference carried by FOX 35 Orlando, the pilot remembers her astonishment that someone would pay her to do what made her happiest: fly. It is a recollection of the pleasure she took in the work, before the conversation turns to her final cockpit transmissions.

Allan describes listening to those recordings and speaks of her bravery. "I wanted to be by her side inside the plane to help her," he says.

The recording drew about 28,000 views in its first 12 hours, far above the station's usual start for a regular video. But the family's purpose at the microphone was specific: to preserve her memory and defend her qualifications without assigning responsibility for the crash.

"We're not making allegations against anybody at this time," the attorney says. He asks reporters not to pursue questions assigning fault, saying the family will wait for the official investigation's findings.
